Wow… what a success

September 16, 2009

Ok, so I know people have asked about this blog and are looking for more entires or at least more of an update.  It’s coming I promise!!  I am waiting for the reaminder of the photos be delivered and then I wanted to write an entry for what my personal feelings were of the walk and the run.  It was a very touching event and there was a lot of support from the city of South Saint Paul and the organization as a whole.  This is a long standing tradition and this was one of the best years to date I think!  (Or at least it has been since my tenure).

Look for an update in the near future with plenty more to come.  Just because the event is over doesn’t mean we have to stop talking about it!!

2 months to go!

June 30, 2009

With July 1 on the horizon and the Independence Day festivities around the corner it really means we are about to kick it in high gear!

Each year our walk asks our staff for funds for our cause.  This year will be no different.  We sell raffle tickets for prizes that were donated, sell t-shirts, and “thought clouds”.  These clouds were purchased and put around the facility.  They read “In memory of:” and staff could fill in the name of their loved one they are remembering.

This year we are changing the design to reflect our logo of the Cerentiy butterfly.  I don’t have it made yet but when I do I can post it on here for all to see.

We start to sell these items in the middle of August and it pumps our staff for the event to take place in September.

I also want throw out a thank to our donors so far!  We have raised just over $1000.00.  I will post our list of large donors soon.

Thanks for reading!

Let The Blogging Begin!

June 22, 2009

I thought I would get this blog started to add a more personal touch to the website that was just built.

First of all, I can’t believe it’s done!  Not that I want people to feel sorry or to overly compliment me but this whole website was built with volunteer time.  Being a night owl, I spent many a hours working on www.divinewalktoremember.com and it was fairly easy to put together!  I did have to manipulate some HTML code but overall it was easy for me.

I want to try to update this blog every time there are significant changes to our cause.  This may include large donations we receieve, recognitions by the communtiy or by Cerenity or BHS, or family and employee stories that the Walk has touched personally.

I invite you to e-mail with any suggestions or comments at don.ortega@bhshealth.org.  I hope to write back soon!

Until then, thank you for your support for our cause and the mission of Cerenity Senior Care and Benedictine Health Systems.
